I know that I have perhaps cried wolf on this subject a few times before, but the first inside-the-beltway commonwealth Wegmans may finally be under construction. A new supported excavation pit has appeared in the vicinity of the future mixed-use tower and grocer at the Capital One headquarters.
Of course, high-rise construction is a long process, especially one with a grocery, but any step forward is a great one for those who love the Wegmans brand.
The new progress may be correlated to the recent county approval of Capital One’s next phase of construction plans, which includes Wegmans and a 1,500-seat event center. Let’s hope this is at full speed ahead now, and that exterior construction crews can shift immediately from the nearly topped Capital One tower to this next phase of the emerging community.
