The folks at Cityline must have an appetite for destruction. A month ago they tore down an aging mid-rise office building on the Johnson Parcel, they tore down the old offices where the McLean metro parking is now, they tore down the outdated mushroom building on Anderson Road, and now they are fencing off their own ancestory offices at the WestGroup building. One can surmise that another building might be coming down in East Tysons.
Don’t get your hopes up too much, Cityline has had a history of tearing down vacant buildings well in advance of beginning construction, but when they are ready the removal of the building will help mobilize crews quicker. All of that means less time before something can be built.
And what is that something?
Cityline plans to build an 18-story mixed use office building with approximately 10,000 square feet of ground floor retail. The main face of the building will align to a new street grid that is part of the overall Scotts Run South project called Station Street. Cityline is planning this new road to be a pedestrian priority, retail lined haven from the any-thing-but-pleasant Route 123.
