The Boro is Tysons’ newest burgeoning neighborhood, located between Greensboro Metro and Greensboro Drive in Central Tysons. For years many of the thousands of employees who work at near by Booz Allen, SAIC, NADA, and countless tech companies have known the property as the spot to grab lunch with anywhere from three to a dozen food trucks serving each day. A year ago a new feature was added when the Boro developer Meridian installed a pop-up park at the corner of Greensboro and Solutions Drive, where previously an unused parking lot laid dormant.
Since that time the park, also known as Greensboro Green, has seen art installations, community input gathering, free music concerts, and even a series of free happy hours last year which were much appreciated. The Tysons Partnership, Meridian (via the newly established Boro) are planning another free event to celebrate one year of parklet success right here in Tysons.
The event is today from 4:30 to 7:30; and word on the street has it that the sun might even make an appearance, please no flash photography of the sun, it is very private.
