The Kingston project continues to climb as quickly as any building — maybe with the exception of Adaire — in Tysons along the quickly changing Anderson Road corridor. At 12 stories the building is nearing the key top out of the structure, with the final height of 15 stories. The dual tower apartment building is still at least twelve months away from being able to begin pre-leasing but I’m sure the crews are pushing towards completing the facade construction prior to the frost season. Expect the quick pace to continue.
The massing along Anderson Road will set it apart from less developed corridors of Tysons when Kingston is complete, and even more so when Cityline completes their yet to construct project at the former WestGroup building. While the Haden next door has a similar 15 story tower, its sister building is only 6 floors high; avoiding any shadow or immediate height discrepancies with the adjacent existing Morgan condominium.
Kingston is only phase 1 of the overall Anderson Park project which will include over 2000 apartment units within a half mile of the McLean metro station. Similar to Haden the Kingston will help improve the road conditions, pedestrian walkways, and eventually a new road link between Colshire Road and Anderson Road. I’m most excited to see what the final facade for the building looks like, and we’ll be finding out the answer to that question pretty soon.
