InTysons today: The music scene continues to evolve in Tysons with the 2nd annual fresh artist concert series on the plaza, office managers are flocking to transit accessible locations in Tysons. The Peter Pan theater construction in timelapse, and Kettler finishes up one project in time to start another.

Tysons Social Scene, Live Music on the Plaza

For the second year in a row 94.7 is hosting their fresh artist summer series up on the plaza at Tysons Corner Center. The event was popular last year when most of the plaza was still under construction, so one can assume the popularity will remain now that several new restaurants have opened up. The Connection talks with concert goers to get their take on the new music scene.

Office Market Is Back, And It Loves The Silver Line

For all those who hate anything but highway expansions, more bad news, offices prefer transit and it’s showing up in the free market absorption reports. After a really terrible first quarter for the NOVA office market, the second quarter has bounced back with 60% of Tysons leasing activity happening within 1/4 mile of metro. Imagine what our commercial office market would look like if we didn’t have transit access.

Kettler Teams Up For Another Major Project In Tysons

Kettler has had a very busy couple of years in Tysons, and it looks like they just got busier joining forces with Merdian Group to build residential units at the Boro. The project will include a new Whole Foods, a high end cinema, and lots of apartment units. What is really unique about the project is that it will finally deliver condominiums, the first to be built since the passing of the Comprehensive Plan nearly 5 years ago!
