Updates From One Tysons

OneTysons06Since last we wrote on the tri-tower construction occurring at the AMC entrance of Tysons Corner Center signficant progress has been made on the project and a new name has been given to the neighborhood, now known as One Tysons (or Tysons One Place depending on which website you believe).

Tysons Tower, the office building, is seeing final interior finishes and plaza work in its aims to be open this summer to new tenants Intelsat and Deloitte. Vita Tower by Kettler, the residential building, stands at nearly 20-stories, with another 10-stories yet to be built, and glimpses of the final facade beginning to appear.

A new building, the Hyatt Hotel has joined its neighbors, now standing nearly as tall as the AMC Theater Garage.

Perhaps even more important to some residents and commuters, the plaza level has now decked over Shop Tysons Boulevard and looks to be preparing for a final connection to the Silver Line metro station sky bridge. The plaza will have a good chance of being ready for the first Silver Line train passengers now that officials have delayed the Silver Line again.

The project continues to be an impressive one not only in construction but also in leasing, as new tenant Crisp And Juicy has signed on to relocate from Falls Church to the plaza, joining other quick cuisine stop Shake Shack.

The project will be the 1st impression many have of the changing Tysons region, as the mall will likely remain the largest single draw to town. I hope the opening of the plaza is accompanied by the same kind of showmanship that the project has had all along, with a ceremony and event planning that can fully utilize the sure to be popular space.
