On the heels of the successful conference in 2011, NOVAForward, Bisnow is hosting a conference at the Hilton Tysons Corner including numerous distinguished speakers from a variety of professional fields. This will be the first major conference held at the recently renovated Hilton, and should serve to showcase the new investment in renovation and construction projects in the region. The discussion will extend beyond the typical analysis of new projects in the region to include professional and business developmentĀ opportunities. Representative Gerry Connolly headlines the field of speakers as well as recently re-elected Board of Supervisors Chairman Sharon Bulova.
Private industry speakers include Aaron Georgelas, who may provide further information on the status of the ambitious Spring Hill Station project, Keith Summers of PS Business Parks, Douglas Koolemay of SAIC, Stephen Cumbie CEO of NVCommercial, William Hard of LCOR (McLean Commons project), Arthur Fucillo of Lerner, and Timothy Steffan of Macerich. The conference will include an hour long networking breakfast and a two hour discussion, questions, and answers portion.
It is unsure what decisions or updates may be provided with this conference, as the NOVAForward Forum served more as an advertisement of the new projects than any real status news. Of great importance remains the looming gap between private developer and public funding of the pedestrian networks and infrastructure changes required of the new comprehensive plan as well as numerous questions on public facility planning and construction schedules raised during the NOVAForward Forum. Let us know, what do you think is the biggest question outstanding for developers and County officials to date?
