It has been almost 9 months since we last discussed Tysons Central’s first phase, the Lumen apartments. The project is a 32-story mixed use tower that is the first entry by NV Commercial into the new Tysons, with developer Kettler. We haven’t discussed it much because until now the project has been digging deeper and deeper for its parking garage and foundations. Now that some time has passed, the project appears to be preparing to go vertical, with major excavation braced and the concrete batch plant making literal tons of concrete.
The project also had some significant infrastructure that needed to be done before all of the foundations could begin, including relocating electrical, waterlines, and storm drainage. Soon this most central intersection of Tysons, one that many from Vienna and surrounding neighborhoods see daily on their commutes, will feature the premier tower designed by DCS Design.
