Ask any local what the best sports radio show is, and the Junkies will be the answer. These guys have been combining humor, reflecting on life, and talking sports since I was in elementary school, long before Cakes masterfully concealed his Baltimore accent. It’s become a tradition before Skins games to listen to the Junkies pre-game show, where the four guys often let loose a bit, have a couple beers, and go off the cuff about the game.
It is awesome news that this year they will be hosted by Tysons Biergarten on Route 7, by the Greensboro Metro. As far as Biergartens go, no one can say they are closer to major transit access than Tysons Biergarten, it literally greets you as you come off the escalator at the station. The indoor/outdoor hot spot was Tysons best happy hour spot last year before running into some permitting issues. Since then, the permits have been resolved, and the locally run watering hole has returned to its popularity dominance. With the Junkies now calling it home, it will only further promote the changes happening in Tysons, in both construction and activities.
Those joining the Biergarten for the pregrame broadcast will be able to watch all the games on 17 screens and two projectors. They will also have an insane wings special, 18 wings for $8, and there will be drink specials which will not be enumerated here due to ABC laws. The show will happen for 14 of the 16 Skins games, excluding the Thanksgiving and Christmas weekend games. Come out and enjoy a drink, and take that sullllllly silver line or use a money DD to drink safe.
