It was nearly two months ago we took a trip to Tysons Tower to tour the inside of the building and under construction plaza level that connects to the mall. Since that time the new neighborhood is starting to take shape into its soon to be final form. Trees have been installed at the street level, the plaza appears to be near completion, and VITA tower has overtaken Tysons Tower as the tallest under construction building in town.
Many people have also been noting the presence of the new Hyatt Hotel on the skyline, which has a significant integrated component with the plaza as well. We haven’t been able to confirm the restaurant planned for Tysons Tower, but Shake Shack’s building on the plaza level is nearing completion.
While the buildings at One Tysons won’t have a traditional grocery store, the new Tysons Market did open inside the mall providing corner market items like produce, beverages, and other apartment oriented goods.
I’m sure Macerich is anxious to get the buildings and plaza up and running for day one of the Silver Line, as the metro station has a direct connection to their development. As of right now it looks like they are tracking well for a late summer completion.
