PlanItMetro released some information on a popular bus that currently runs the length of the Dulles Corridor between DC and Dulles. The 5A bus (which used to stop at Westpark Transit last year before it was quietly cut in service with no fanfare) provides an approximate one hour trip between DC and Dulles; about as good as one could hope via driving. Due to the addition of the Silver Line to the corridor (someday they say) the bus line will either be truncated, a similar concept to what has occurred to many of the Fairfax Connector routes in the corridor, or removed all together.
For more details see the press release. The plan is not yet set in cement; residents have a chance to either support or protest the change at the upcoming Fall Public Meetings on Bus Service.
