Caffe Amouri fits in so well with Vienna one might think its an institution dating back to the town’s founding instead of its actual opening in the summer of 2010. The coffee (and tea) house isn’t just your typical Central Perk style percolator and events like Friday night game nights and Saturday open mics create the feel of a community center instead of a coffee shop. Most importantly the coffee is created by actual baristas, and not franchise employees who don’t drink coffee, let alone know how to make a good brew.
Michael Amouri has created a great shop which prides itself in quality of service, atmosphere, and drink and has found a way to do so with a sustainable and environmentally friendly method. Corn starch cups, fettuccine coffee stirrers, and garden ready coffee grounds are all examples of how this shop is commercial and environmentally sustainable. The paninis and grilled cheese are exactly what you would want on a Sunday afternoon, and the personal french press keeps life slower and more enjoyable. So if you are in Vienna, and want to relax and read a give one take one book I suggest you stop for a nice “green” cup of real coffee right on historic Church Street.
