I’ve created a database of all existing Tysons buildings, those recently built, those currently being built, and those which are either approved for development or under review. All of these combined together account for only half of the anticipated development in Tysons (per the comprehensive plan total allowable development) by 2050. As these are the early projects out of the gate (those with immediate desires for redevelopment) we can also assume that Tysons will look similar to what is shown sometime between 2030 and 2040, with additional plans sure to arise before then.
The depiction of these plans also gives insight on how the development will cluster and then ultimately forge together to create the overall concept created by the comprehensive plan.
We will be providing additional graphics this month of each neighborhood’s evolution.
