MRP’s construction on the new LMI headquarters is progressing quickly; you may have noticed the building and crane now being visible from Route 123. We thought it would be a good time to check back in on the steel framed skeleton which now rises nearly 5-stories.
The building sits in a prominent section for corporations in Tysons, what’s quickly become Fortune 500 way, including Hilton HQ, Freddie Mac, and Gannett/USA Today. When Scott’s Run Crossing Road is extended to meet the North Tysons neighborhood the list will expand to include Capital One and Northrup Grumman.
No one argues that Tysons is a corporate hub, an employment center, and a place where business gets done but these early plans have largely kept that business as usual when it comes to the intent of the comprehensive plan. We’ll see if the neighborhood evolves beyond its headquarters identity with new plans from Meridian and Cityline anticipated to begin construction over the next 12 months.
