It’s been since last fall that we had an opportunity to head over to the MITRE campus on Colshire Drive. The project isn’t the most ambitious of urbanist hopes, but one can’t argue with consolidating and growing employment near a transit station by a company who has big plans in our area. It could have been a much stronger building had better walkability and mixed use development been incorporated, but the adjacent Scotts Run Station should more than make up for its lacking.
The fourteen story building is still having foundations built for its underground parking garage, but two new tower cranes signal the ensuing vertical construction.
We’ll track construction progress as the building takes shape. The building will likely be topped sometime spring 2016, with a likely delivery of fall 2016.
