Earlier this year we watched demolition activity at 1575 Anderson Road take an aged office building and turn it into salvage materials. The initial activity at the site is the tip of the iceberg for the larger overall development known as Scotts Run Station, which will ultimately build several mixed use buildings along Route 123 in Tysons. It’s also the first step in construction of two residential towers, 15-stories and 6-stories, directly adjacent to the Silver Line metro line’s entry into Tysons.
Progress at the site has now reached a new step, moving foward with earthwork which will encompass most of the remaining warm weather months this year as construction crews dig out and reinforce three levels of below grade parking garages.
The work has already produced a large stockpile of soils, ultimately several dozen more piles of soil will be excavated and hauled off before foundations and building construction can begin.
We’ll keep an eye on construction as it continues well into 2016.
